The Service User Consultative group is seeking new members. The group is comprised of people with self-experience of mental illness. The group was established in February 2004 in response to the lack of service users on Council and the growing demand for our input into the organisation. The group reports to the Council of Shine and we also discuss and bring to Council matters of importance.
If you think you might be interested in becoming a member of the consultative group please reply to Mary Lambe with a few lines about yourself and why you might be a suitable candidate for the group. Please send these replies to Mary Lambe, Shine, 38 Blessington Street, Dublin 7. You may also email your reply to mlambe@shineonline.ie. All replies will be treated in the strictest of confidence.
Any of the members can be contacted through Shine or approached directly via the relevant Phrenz group if you have something to bring to our attention. We look forward to hearing from you and having the wider membership's opinions and issues brought up for discussion.
The current members of the group are: Patrick Brassil, Karen Cobbe, Ciaran Cobbe (Chairperson), George Bridges, John Breslin, Michael Rafferty, and Joe Hensey.
